From Leave to Launch: Becoming The Working Mom

Life as a new parent is often a time filled with challenges, firsts, and new beginnings. Navigating your new identity, learning a new schedule, creating a support system that meets your needs, all while trying to learn about your baby and their needs. Just when it feels like you have gotten into a good routine and figured out this new normal, your maternity leave is up and it’s time to head back to work. The navigation of a new normal begins all over again.

You might be left wondering:

  • How do I leave my baby with people I just met?

  • How will I balance being a working professional and a parent at the same time?

  • How will I keep the bond with my baby if we won’t be spending as much time together?

  • Will I ever recognize my body again?

We created From Leave to Launch to help bring more clarity to all of these questions. Supported by a team of Registered Counsellors, a Pediatric Occupational Therapist, and a Pelvic Floor Specialist. Over six weeks we will explore the parts of this transition that still feel unclear:

  • Your changing identity

  • Your and your baby’s nervous system

  • Reconnecting with your body after birth

  • Preparing for daycare

All while being part of a community who understands what you are going through and is right there with you.
